PES has been busy behind the scenes. There is the Aetna Wire Tour on the 9th and the Arc Flash presentation from Adeeb Hamzy of the Richmond Chapter of PES on March 9th at Al Fresco in Newport News. Note that meeting starts a little earlier to accommodate Adeeb's return to Richmond that evening. Look for links to the meetings elsewhere in the newsletter!
For Engineer's Week PES will host a Networking social and volunteer recognition on Monday Feb 21st at Kelly's Tavern from 6:30 to 8. This event is free, and students are encouraged to attend bringing resumes and business cards. PES will provide appetizers, there is a cash bar and folks are welcome to order off the menu. This is going to be an annual event. The goal is at least two Networking Socials a year, another in the Fall.
I would like to acknowledge both Richard Williams and Rick Williamson for their joining the IEEE/PES team to keep the wheels spinning. If you see them at any functions please be sure to thank them for their time and effort.
There will be another tour of Surry for members of PES and IEEE the first full week of April. Anyone wishing to attend should e-mail me their availability and details.
The distinguished lecture will happen in Nov as a joint meeting with the Section, and if anyone has suggestions for a topic, please submit that soon.
Yours in Power,
Jennifer Ammentorp
